What an extraordinary year this has been. While dominated by the challenges of the Covid pandemic, it has also brought many positives as we, confined to our homes, rediscovered that a house is more than bricks and mortar. One of the important property trends which emerged, is that a home must provide more than just shelter, it must also fulfil our lifestyle needs.
Another extraordinary occurrence has been the historic lowering of the interest rate to a level last seen some fifty years ago. This has provided significant impetus to the property market, creating the ideal buying conditions and driving demand and excellent sales since June.
Buyers are now looking for homes in good locations and the Constantiaberg/Southern Suburbs area has plenty of this, great amenities and the best schools in the city too. While packed with opportunity for buyers, the market is also favourable for sellers.
There is little sign of a slow-down and we foresee the first half of the new year to remain busy. Sellers should therefore get their sole mandates in so as not to miss this great selling phase.
